
The Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor had the honor of hosting Mr. Ivan Šoć, founder and owner of Five Group (Five G), and Mr. Radovan Vojinović, gaming coordinator within the same company group. The guests were welcomed by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Tatijana Dlabač. The meeting was attended by Vice-Deans Prof. Doc. Dr. Stevan Kordić, Doc. Dr. Zorica Đurović, Dr. Senka Šekularac Ivošević, as well as other professors, associates, students, and alumni of the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor.
Mr. Šoć presented the activities of Five Group, a brand that integrates eSport, gaming, artificial intelligence, science, technology, and innovation into one whole, and emphasized the importance and influence of these segments as the foundation of a successful society. He stressed that Five Group encourages young people to develop their ideas, and in order to support the development of these fields, Five Group has been a long-standing sponsor of the “Days of Science and Innovation,” organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro.
During the meeting, the representatives of Five Group presented some of their current projects, as well as plans for future work. They expressed great interest in cooperation with the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor in the field of developing advanced e-simulators with the aim of improving the quality of education and training of seafarers.
Mr. Igor Stanovčić and Mr. Igor Petrović presented the nautical simulator to the guests, while Doc. Dr. Miroslav Vukičević demonstrated the capabilities provided by the Marine Engineering Simulator within the Faculty’s resources.
Mr. Šoć also visited the Center for Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, within which is located the Laboratory for Maritime Archaeology, during which several ideas and experiences from these fields were exchanged.
The visit of Five Group representatives to the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor ended with positive impressions, and mutual interest was expressed in further cooperation and the development of projects that will benefit both parties.
